OUR PROCESS

Initial Consultation

First visit

A man sitting in a medical office holding a model of the human spine, explaining it to another person.

Your healing journey starts with an initial consultation. An extensive first visit allows your chiropractor to understand the stresses your body is under and allows us to get to the root cause of problems.

When you first enter our office, you will be greeted by one of our chiropractic assistants. They are the heart of our practice and are here to make your life easy and stress-free! They will check to ensure the intake forms that were sent in advance have been filled out correctly as well as assist you with any enquiries you may have before you meet with the doctor.

Based on your intake forms and your goals, the doctor will bring you through an assessment tailored to you. This includes:

  1. An in-depth health history.

  2. An explanation of chiropractic and our unique approach to health care.

  3. A comprehensive chiropractic assessment including physical, neurological, orthopedic, postural, balance, muscle, and range of motion testing.

  4. INSIGHT™ scans to evaluate neurological function and the effects of spinal stress on your overall health.

During this visit, the doctor will go over / request previous imaging (MRI, CT, X-Ray) or request new imaging if clinically indicated. He will also make any appropriate referrals (if required) to other professionals.

Report of Findings and Adjustment

Second visit

Your second visit to the office is called a report of findings. This visit is usually scheduled within a few days of your initial adjustment. The doctor will sit with you, explain our approach, go over your results, set out a personalized plan to meet your goals and answer any questions you may have.

In this visit, we will cover:

  1. Examination results (posture, range of motion, balance testing, orthopedic testing, neurological testing, spinal exam findings, as well as iNSIGHT™ test results assessing neurological function.)

  2. A “game plan” or care plan of how to best achieve your goals, maintain results and optimize your function and performance.

  3. How long and how often adjustments are needed to achieve results.

  4. What we need to do, and what you need to do, to get results.

  5. Your first adjustment.

After making an informed decision to start care, we will proceed to deliver your first adjustment.

During your first adjustment, the chiropractor will explain to you what they are doing and why, and work collaboratively with you to ensure your are comfortable every step of the way. We utilize a number of different approaches and age specific techniques and the experience will vary slightly for everyone as it is individualized.
